Groupe Modulo inc. Expands French Language Instructional Materials
with Acquisitions of Two French Publishers
Editions du Phare and Mondia Editeurs Strengthens Groupe Modulo
inc’s
position in Language Arts and Enhances Bilingual Textbook Options for
Customers
Montreal, Canada, June 10, 2005 —Groupe Modulo inc., a leading
Canadian publisher and part of The Thomson Corporation, today announced
the acquisition of Editions du Phare and Mondia Editeurs, two publishers
based in St-Jerome, Quebec, known for providing quality French language
instructional materials.
Building on Groupe Modulo inc.’s existing presence in the French-language
market, these acquisitions will enable the company to continue to grow
in French-language school and higher education markets throughout Canada.
In addition to strengthening Groupe Modulo inc.’s position in
Language Arts, the acquisitions also provides access to a number of
talented authors, enables further expansion into French-language instructional
materials.

and products from Editions du Phare and Mondia Editeurs, these acquisitions
will
allow the company to better meet its' customers needs in the French-language
market and ensure development of new products for continued future

The closing date for the acquisition is June 10, 2005.
Further terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
